MDC Corporate Center achieves EDGE green building certification

The MDC Corporate Center in Arca South was recently awarded with an EDGE certification by the Philippine Green Building Initiative (PGBI). An awarding ceremony was held last November 15, during the opening of the 2024 MDC Builders Expo (BUILDEX), and was attended by the MDC Management Committee headed by our President and CEO Mr. Dan Abando and PGBI representatives headed by PGBI Chairman and President Engr. Leandro Conti, PGBI EDGE Program Director Engr. Ramon Aguilos, ZERO Energy Building (ZEB) Director Ar. Emelito Punsalan, MDC Corporate Center’s EDGE Auditor Ar. Reymond Reteracion, and PGBI EDGE Project Coordinator Ms. Arelene Pacoma.

EDGE, which stands for “Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies,” was founded by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a World Bank Group member. It is a green building certification system that aims to create high-performance buildings with low impacts on the environment. The MDC Corporate Center achieved the certification by demonstrating energy savings of 29%, water savings of 37%, and reduced embodied carbon in materials by 73%.
