The Amaia Steps Pasig Clara project recently celebrated its topping off milestone 15 days ahead of schedule. A ceremony was held last April 12, 2024 wherein the ACE Team conducted the traditional lifting of trees toward the top-most floor marking the milestone achievement.

Amaia Steps Pasig is a 4-hectare residential development located at the heart of Pasig City.

MDC partners with TESDA Region VII for Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) Program

Last March 15, 2024, MDC signed a Memorandum of Agreement with TESDA Region VII to cement a partnership for TESDA’s Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) Program. Through the partnership, trainees will be allowed to enhance their knowledge and skills through immersion and application of construction competencies in the actual workplace.

Present during the signing were TESDA VII Regional Director Ramon Evan T. Ruiz and MDC Cebu Operations General Manager Exequiel Q. Mabini. During the ceremony, Mr. Ruiz expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the MDC Cebu team for opening its doors to provide trainees with an immersive learning experience in MDC. The partnership paves the way towards stronger, relevant, and more accessible skills development and livelihood opportunities in the region.

MCI wins at 2024 BFP Aksyon Bilis Urban Fire Olympics

MCI Emergency Response Team for winning at the 2nd Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Aksyon Bilis Urban Fire Olympics 2024 held last March 16 in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. MCI won the Best in Hose Laying and Busted Hose Replacement competitions under
the Industrial Category.

Bringing together the best emergency response teams and fire brigades across the country, the Urban Fire Olympics is one of the highlights of BFP’s Fire Prevention Month. The annual event aims to test the skills and teamwork of participating teams by demonstrating their firefighting and rescue competencies.

MDC becomes U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Gold Member

MDC has joined the global green building community as it recently became a U.S. Green Building Council (USBGC) Gold Member. USGBC members play an important role in driving the green building community forward. Through the membership, MDC aims to strengthen its support for Ayala’s Net Zero Green House Gas Emissions by 2050 vision and advance responsible design and construction initiatives for a more sustainable future.

MDC and Takenaka forms joint venture company

Two leading design and construction companies, Makati Development Corporation (MDC) of the Philippines, and Takenaka Corporation of Japan, recently finalized an agreement to establish MDTK Corporation. A ceremonial launch event was held last March 21, 2024 in Makati City and was attended by top executives from Ayala Corporation, Ayala Land, Inc., MDC, and Takenaka.

The ceremony was attended by Department of Labor and Employment representatives together with the Avida Towers Verge Tower 1 ACE Team. Avida Towers Verge Tower 1 is a three-tower high rise residential condominium by Avida Land Corporation. Tower 1 rises above Mandaluyong City with 39 floors and 1,020 units.

MDC & MDBI honored with 12 International Safety Awards

Eleven MDC projects and one MDBI project receive 2024 International Safety Awards from the British Safety Council. These awards highlight the organization’s strong commitment to providing safe and healthy workspaces for employees and stakeholders.

The Residences at Azuela Cove Project received the Distinction Award, the program’s highest honor, for garnering a score of 53 out of 56. Likewise, the Avida Towers Riala T5 Project in Cebu received a Merit Award for scoring 41 points.

MDBI’s ePLDT Data Center Project, as well as the following MDC projects received a Pass Award for achieving scores between 30 to 39 points: Avida Towers Centralis, The Courtyards Vermosa, Mergent Residences, Ayala Greenfield Estates, Corvia, Arbor Lanes Phase 3 Block 4, The Lattice at Parklinks, West Gallery Place, and Alveo Orean Place Tower 2.

The International Safety Awards recognize an organization’s commitment to excellent standards of health, safety, and wellbeing management at a specific site or business unit. In 2024, a total of 1,251 applications were received from organizations of all sizes, types, sectors, and businesses in the UK, Africa, Asia, China, Europe, India, the Middle East, Turkey, and the Republic of Ireland.
