MDC has been recognized with a Silver Stevie Award for Achievement in Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) at the 2026 International Business Awards, one of the world’s premier business awards programs. This year, more than 3,400 nominations from organizations across industries and around the world were considered.
The recognition reflects MDC’s continued commitment to building with purpose by integrating ESG principles into our values, operations, project delivery, people programs, and business decisions.

Among our key efforts are the adoption of sustainability and circular economy practices, supported by digital innovations that improve resource efficiency. We continue to invest in our people and communities through initiatives such as our skills training and development partnership with TESDA, which has trained more than 60,000 workers since 2015, and GREATogether, which advances diversity, inclusion, and respect in the workplace.

MDC & MCI Successfully Maintain ISO Certifications with Zero Non-Conformances

Makati Development Corporation (MDC) and MDC ConQrete, Inc. (MCI) have once again demonstrated their commitment to excellence after being successfully recommended for the maintenance of their certifications to ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management Systems), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) with zero non-conformances.

The surveillance audit was conducted by TÜV NORD Philippines from July 22 to 24, 2025, validating the effectiveness of the companies’ integrated management systems and their continued adherence to international standards for quality, environmental stewardship, and occupational health and safety.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and support of the MDC and MCI Corporate teams, Arca Pie and Nuveo T1 project teams, and the MCI Arca CBP and San Felix Precast Plant teams. Their commitment to upholding ISO standards reflects our shared responsibility to deliver quality projects, protect the environment, and ensure the safety and well-being of our people.

Metrobank HQ, Ayala Malls Nuvali, and Ayala Malls Arca South projects achieve 100% DOLE Compliance Rating

Three MDC projects—Metrobank HQ, Ayala Malls Nuvali, and Ayala Malls Arca South— successfully achieved a 100% Compliance Rating during the recent Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) High Impact High Visibility Inspection (HIHVI), which are being conducted in high-risk sectors such as construction to ensure proper enforcement of minimum wage, OSH programs, and worker benefits.

The inspection was conducted by the DOLE inspection team composed of Leonidas P. Castillon, Jr., Director II of the Makati & Pasay Field Office, Jeremiah T. Carlos, OIC-Director II of the MUNTAPARLAS (Muntinlupa, Taguig, Parañaque, and Las Piñas) Field Office, and Roma Rori Mae Magtaas, Labor & Employment Officer III, and was attended by the respective ACE teams of the three projects.

This achievement reflects the collective commitment, diligence, and ownership of our ACE Teams in upholding labor standards and fostering safe, compliant workplaces where our people can thrive.

MDC supports recovery efforts in quake-hit Southern Mindanao

MDC joined Ayala Group-led relief and recovery efforts in Southern Mindanao following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck off the coast of Mindanao on June 8.

As part of the Brigadang Ayala volunteer initiative, MDC deployed volunteer engineers to conduct structural assessments of school buildings in affected communities across General Santos City, South Cotabato, and Sarangani Province. The assessments helped identify potential safety concerns and support the restoration of safe learning environments for students and educators.

MDC also worked alongside Ayala Foundation, local government units, Globe, the Philippine Army, and community organizations in responding to the immediate needs of affected families. The collective effort included rapid community assessments and the distribution of relief assistance to residents impacted by the earthquake.

The initiative brought together volunteers from across the Ayala Group, demonstrating a shared commitment to helping communities recover and rebuild after disasters.

“Volunteering for Brigadang Ayala reminds me that even small acts of service can make a big difference in people’s lives. Being able to help communities in my hometown during a difficult time made the experience even more meaningful,” said MDC Mindanao Project Human Resources Officer Queenxeal Miranda-Asensi, a native of General Santos City.

Through its participation in Brigadang Ayala, MDC continues to support disaster response and recovery efforts, contributing its technical expertise to help communities rebuild safely and strengthen resilience for the future.

MDC Recognized as Bureau of Customs “Super Green Lane Importer”

MDC has recently been accredited by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) as a “Super Green Lane Importer,” an elite recognition given to compliant and trusted importers.

This accreditation is designed to significantly expedite the importation and release process for qualified companies. It reduces bureaucratic steps and helps lower logistics-related operational costs, including storage charges, x-ray fees, inspection fees, and other related expenses.

A key benefit of this program is exemption from cargo examination and the Risk Management Selectivity System. For MDC, this means containers will no longer need to be physically opened for inspection, resulting in faster release of imported materials and improved supply chain efficiency.

Award of Distinction – 4 projects awarded

The awarding ceremony was held during the 17th National Construction Safety Conference last April 23-24, 2026, at Ichikawa Hall, Occupational Safety and Health Center, Diliman, Quezon City. Through the Construction Safety Awards, SOPI recognizes the efforts of companies that consistently promote a safe and healthy work environment while minimizing accidents and injuries in the workplace.

MDC Group Recognized at the 2026 Philippine Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards

MDC Group was recently recognized at the Philippine Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards (PECCA) 2026. The ceremony took place on April 23, 2026, during the Philconstruct Luzon Industry Night in Clark, Pampanga.

Organized by the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) and the American Concrete Institute – Philippines Chapter (ACI), PECCA honors projects that demonstrate innovation and technical skill within the local construction industry.

This year, we received honors in two major categories:

Overall Winner: For the second year in a row, Makati Development Corporation was named the overall recipient, reflecting consistent performance in concrete construction standards.
High-Rise Structures Category: The Park Central Towers won top honors in this category with MDC as the General Contractor, MDBI as the Concrete Contractor, and MCI as the Concrete Supplier.

As winners of the national awards, these entries will move forward to represent the Philippines at the global ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards.

Building Futures: Empowering Indigenous Communities Through Skills Training in Puerto Galera

In a continued effort to promote inclusive development, MDC’s Skills Training and Assessment Unit (STAU), in partnership with Ayala Foundation, Inc., recently conducted a three-day Masonry NC II skills training program for members of the Iraya Mangyan community in Puerto Galera.

The initiative brought together 35 participants, who underwent a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on training aimed at strengthening their technical knowledge in masonry. Through guided practical exercises, trainees were able to develop essential construction skills aligned with national competency standards.

The program forms part of a broader effort to equip indigenous communities with livelihood opportunities, enabling them to access more stable sources of income. By enhancing employability through skills development, the initiative also seeks to contribute to the long-term economic growth of the community.

The collaboration underscores a shared commitment between MDC and Ayala Foundation to empower marginalized sectors through education, capacity building, and sustainable development programs.

From Skills to Opportunities: MDC & Ayala Foundation Train Iraya Mangyan Community in Puerto Galera

Thirty-six (36) trainees from the Iraya Mangyan community in Puerto Galera recently completed a three-day Carpentry NC II Training conducted by MDC’s Skills Training and Assessment Unit, in partnership with Ayala Foundation, Inc. (AFI).

The training program was designed to enhance participants’ technical skills, strengthen their confidence, and open up greater employment opportunities within the construction industry. Through hands-on exercises and practical demonstrations, the trainees gained essential carpentry knowledge and competencies—equipping them to build not only quality structures, but also more secure and promising futures for themselves and their families.

An NC II Competency Assessment will be scheduled to formally evaluate the trainees’ proficiency and certify those who meet the required national standards. A graduation ceremony will follow to recognize their dedication and successful completion of the program.

This initiative forms part of MDC’s continuing nation-building efforts, aligned with the broader commitment of the Ayala Group to create meaningful and inclusive opportunities for communities across the country.

CMSG closes 2025 with multiple SOPI Industrial Safety Awards

MDC’s Construction Methods and Solutions Group (CMSG) closed 2025 on a high note, earning 12 Industrial Safety Awards from the Safety Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (SOPI) during its 57th National Industrial Safety Conference and 66th Founding Anniversary & National Assembly, held on November 27–28, 2025 in Parañaque City.

Adding to this milestone, Sonny Boy Dimen, MCI Precast ES Manager, was conferred the SOPI Outstanding Safety Practitioner Award, recognizing his exemplary leadership and commitment to workplace safety.

Through its Industrial Safety Awards, SOPI underscores the importance of occupational safety in the manufacturing industry and honors organizations and individuals who demonstrate outstanding efforts and best practices in fostering a safe and healthy work environment.
