Considered as an “AAA” Contractor, it is only but fitting that MDC will receive some recognitions and awards.In its pursuit for excellence, MDC simultaneously received three ISO Certifications last March 28, 2003 for its Integrated Management System. MDC received ISO 9001:2000 for quality management, ISO 14000:1996 for environmental management, and OHSAS 18001:1999 for occupational health and safety.
Safety is one of the major priorities of MDC, as evidenced with the number of projects with at least one (1) million safe man-hours. Market!Market!, Serendra Phase 1 and The Columns Ayala Avenue projects all reached four (4) million safe man-hours last 2005 and 2006. Greenbelt 5 Redevelopment and The Residences at Greenbelt 2 (TRAG 2) achieved three (3) million safe man-hours this December 2007. These were awarded by the Bureau of Working Conditions of the Department of Labor and Employment
To support the increasing number of projects, MDC modernized its equipment enabling to break the world record of cubic meters of Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) poured for a specific number of hours. MDC poured 5,500 cubic meters of RMC monolithic in a span of 50 hours for the mat foundation of TRAG2, a 48-storey residential condominium in Makati. It broke the records of ESI concrete pumping of 2,500 cubic meters for the Wallmart Super Center in Florida, USA and the record of 4,000 cubic meters mat foundation poured at the BSA Tower in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
A. Rita Line, a waterworks project, was awarded by MWCI as one of the “Best WOW Project Site” for 2005. MDC reached another milestone with the construction of Lambingan Pipe Bridge. This 75-meter structural steel bridge was recognized by MWCI officials as “state of the art”.
Adding depth and height to MDC’s portfolio, the Greenbelt Project received a commendation from the International Council of Shopping Centers or ICSC for its Innovative Design and Development. The ICSC is the trade association of the shopping center industry with over 53,000 members in 98 countries.
